Once you install Scrite on a new device, you will be asked to provide us your email. We recommend that you use a single email across all installations that you own, although you are free to use different emails if you want.
Once you click Continue on this page, Scrite will send an activation code to your email. For this to work, you need to be connected to the Internet.
Simply copy the activation code from your email and paste it into the activation code field within Scrite, and click on the Activate button.
This will cause the installation of Scrite on your computer to be activated and linked with your account. From there on, Scrite will use the same account every time you start the app.
You can always click on your user profile icon on the top right corner of the Scrite window and edit your account profile details.
Your information is stored on our servers as per the Privacy Policy.
Since version 0.8 beta, released in Dec 2021, users were required to sign-up or login to their account, to activate their installation of Scrite and use all features.
While activation was optional before, with version 0.9.2k and beyond, it is mandatory to signup or login to your account and activate your installation of Scrite, in order to use the app.
Why make login mandatory?
Later this year, Scrite will offer commercial plans once it moves out of beta. We will make an official announcement about this closer to the launch. Signing up will create a user profile with Scrite which allows us to keep you informed about such updates. More importantly, it will also help us identify all beta users who are guaranteed to receive a privileged offer when the commercial plans are launched.
All Scrite features will remain free and unrestricted until then.
Creating a profile also allows you to join the Scrite community and receive updates, announcements, and knowledge resources to help with your screenwriting journey.
When will the subscription plans be launched?
As of May 2024, we can say that we are getting close to launching our subscription plans, although we are not ready with a launch date as yet. We expect to launch subscription plans within the next 4-6 months.
